LYRICS:
You call me a mud slinging farmer
Digging up dirt all the time
You keep me in your barnyard
Cause I ain’t worth a dime
But if I can’t plant my seeds baby
I can’t grow any vines
You always win, I always lose
I got the farm house blues
You’re an evil-eyed mama
Keeping a watch over me
Such a devilish woman
Who can’t really see
You lock me in your dog house
You’re barking up the wrong tree
You always win, I always lose
I got the farm house blues
I’m a mud slinging man
Say I ain’t worth a dime
Got the Farmhouse blues
I love you baby
Like a fine glass of wine
White, red or rose’….
Sure beats moonshine
But if I don’t work the land,
The fruit will die on the vine.
You always win and I always lose
I got the farm house blues
Joe Says:
“I wanted to write a blues song and the lyrics for "Farmhouse Blues" happened. Lacking musical skills I expected a traditional rendition of the song using a 12 string Martin or Gibson guitar.
But my producer didn't see it that way and surprised the hell out of me when he chose a ukulele with a New Orleans background vibe.
It's different to put it mildly and I'll let you judge whether it works or not. I have mixed feelings.”
