Jan learned her technique of using ribbon yarn to wrap her dramatic pieces from her cousin in Kansas City.
It took her over two years to gain expertise in this unique design work.
She says:
“I have been interested in art since I was gifted my first large box of crayons and a coloring book from my grandmother when I was very young. My mother was a pencil artist and crafter which has inspired me throughout my life. Over the years, I have found the most enjoyment finding new mediums to experiment with and master new skills to challenge myself. Completing a project with extreme satisfaction is the ultimate goal and enjoyment of creating.”
Outside the studio Jan enjoys:
“Co-coordinating a church craft group where we create new treasures from donations received then sell them at an annual boutique for mission use. I also volunteer at the Desert Botanical Garden as an Instructional Aide in my spare time.”
