    Step into the brand-new era of sky-watching in the Dorrance DOME as the NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory unveils its first images and discoveries – from sweeping nebula mosaics and galaxy swarms to thousands of newly found asteroids captured in just hours. Alec Warren, Director of Dorrance DOME Experiences at Arizona Science Center, will lead our journey as we explore how Rubin’s 3,200-megapixel camera will create the highest-resolution timelapse of the Universe ever produced, transforming how we find supernovae, near-Earth asteroids, and clues about the very fabric of existence. This 25-minute interactive, live-presented program will be followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. Admission to Arizona Science Center is included with the experience.

    The OLLI Celebration of Excellence celebrates our members, and their commitment to learn, grow and explore. We will reflect on the wonderful connections, events and classes that we have had this year. We thank our sponsors, community partners and our OLLI instructors for the special classes and programs they provide us. We recognize the university and Watts College for all their support. We honor our OLLI at ASU donors for their financial support. This combined support ensures the long-term sustainability of our enriching educational and social programming that touches so many lives.

    This special event will also feature a presentation by Tina Miller, 'Catalysts of Creativity: ASU’s Human + AI Collaboration' exploring the intersection of technology, imagination, and human connection.

    Artificial intelligence is redefining what’s possible. Rather than viewing AI as a challenge to education or creativity, ASU embraces it as a catalyst for innovation. This panel explores how university teams are using AI to expand imagination, design, and storytelling. Through collaboration, storytelling, and experimentation, these teams are redefining creation in the age of intelligent technology—where imagination and AI unite to shape the future of possibility.

    This intimate fundraiser offers a rare opportunity to spend the day with a small group of OLLI members, OLLI leadership, and Cynthia Lietz, Vice Provost of the Downtown Phoenix Campus and Dean of Watts College.

    • Morning Connection | Begin your day with a refreshing walk through the serene Bubbly Ponds Fish Hatchery, setting the tone for reflection and camaraderie.
    • Afternoon Discovery | Journey through the heart of Cornville for curated tastings at three celebrated wineries: Cove Mesa, Page Springs, and DA Ranch — each offering a unique taste of Arizona’s wine country and Cove Mesa will include a catered lunch.
    • Evening Celebration | Conclude your day with a private dinner at the elegant Mountain Modern Hotel in Sedona, Arizona, surrounded by stunning red rock views and inspiring conversation.

    Registration Details — $1,275 per person | $2,000 per couple

    A portion of your registration directly supports OLLI programming and may be tax-deductible. Please consult with your tax advisor.

    Join us for an evening of poetry, inspiration, and celebration!

    You are invited to join Rosemarie Dombrowski for the launch of her new poetry collection "Emily's Advice in the New Millennium" - a collection inspired by Emily Dickson and generations of women writers and poets. The launch party is co-sponsored by OLLI at ASU and the ASU Office of Veteran and Military Academic Engagement.

  • Vivo Online Strength & Balance Classes (Feb. - Apr.)  | Zoom

    Maintaining muscle strength and balance is essential for preserving health and independence as we age. Without strength training, older adults often experience a decline in muscle tone, which can affect mobility and balance. Vivo is an interactive, live online strength-building course tailored to your individual fitness level, designed to help you improve physical fitness through a focus on strength, balance, and cognitive exercises.

    Classes are small, ensuring personalized attention, and are led by certified personal trainers with expertise in working with older adults. These trainers provide modified exercises to accommodate each participant's specific fitness needs. Vivo offers two 45-minute sessions per week and includes one-on-one assessments before the course starts to establish a baseline of your abilities. At the end of the program, a final assessment will track your progress and results.

    Whether you're new to exercise or already have an established routine, Vivo is designed to help you achieve your fitness goals and enhance your overall well-being.

    Vivo is an online program, where you will pick the class day and time that works best for your schedule. Before the first days of class, Team Vivo will reach out and schedule your baseline assessment.

    ***You will recieve a registartion link in your OLLI confirmation email. You must click on it to initiate the process for your welcome kit to be shipped and your assessment to be scheduled.

     

    Spring Long Session 

    Vivo for 2 classes per week for 12 weeks in the Spring Term (Feb. - Apr.)

    Once you are registered Team Vivo will reach out to send you a Vivo Welcome Kit and schedule your baseline assessment before the first Vivo class. During your assessment you will also select your preferred class day and time. Classes are offered Monday - Friday from 9 am to 11 am.

    Join experts at TeamVivo for a 60-minute webinar to learn about the science of strength training as we age. We will discuss the health benefits of staying strong including improved mood, sleep, and memory. We will introduce strategies for success including the importance of protein, and different ways you can incorporate strength training into your lifestyle. There will be an opportunity to participate in a short demonstration and time for questions and answers.
