Artist Julia Lueders uses an array of different mediums to create her stunning works of art, including watercolors, acrylics, oil and digital painting.
She believes:
“Art is passion, similar to love and living”. She says, “When I think of art I think of beauty. Beauty is the mystery of life. It is not in the eye, it is in the mind. My greatest hope and wish is for my artwork to convey a simple beauty. The world is a magical, wondrous, place, we just need to open up ourselves to it.”
Julia’s favorite OLLI class:
Uncovering Strength: Bronze Relief Sculpting, which gave OLLI students the opportunity to work alongside undergraduates to learn the basics of metal casting techniques. Students then modeled a sculptural relief and prepared the relief for metal casting.
Besides taking OLLI classes and creating artwork, Julia is also the Café Manager at the Tempe Public Library. Stop by and say “Hello!” next time
you’re there!
